Here’s a little bit more about me and my journalism, in case you’re as nosey as I am!

Yes, this photo was taken before my little girl was born, when I used to sleep… 😉

Ever since I can remember I wanted to be a writer, and combining my love for interiors with my love of the written word led me to spend ten very happy years working for some of the UK’s leading interior design magazines and websites.

After completing a postgraduate diploma in Magazine Journalism, I started out as a sub-editor on Kitchens, Bedrooms and Bathrooms magazine, working alongside an incredibly inspiring team who I am happy to say I am still in touch with.

My next role was on Homes & Gardens magazine, and it was within this job that my love for digital was first ignited. I launched and ran their first website for eighteen months, and was later thrilled to be invited to interview to be one of the launch editors for IPC’s new decorating website, housetohome.co.uk (now idealhome.co.uk).

I spent three years having the time of my life at housetohome.co.uk, eventually being promoted to Managing Editor. It was a tough decision to leave the site to go freelance in 2010, but I wasn’t gone long… A week after leaving, I was back working for them on a freelance basis.

As a freelancer, I have worked on pretty much all the mainstream interiors magazines and websites, including: LivingetcIdeal HomeGoodHomesCountry Homes & InteriorsWallpaper*,  Style at HomeBeautiful Kitchens, Houzz.co.uk and many more…

I’ve been twice named in Decorex’s annual list of the most 100 influential people on Twitter.
