We’ve got a bit of an obsession with ceramics in our house. I think Oli started it – when I met him he brought along with him boxes full of Denby, vintage Liberty and ridiculously heavy Richard Thomas bowls he randomly bought at a National Trust house. I’ve also got my own collection of People Will Always Need Plates going on, and when we lived in Wimbledon we used to buy lots of odds and ends from the pottery at Merton Abbey Mills, which was just around the corner.
Suffice to say, there are a lot of bowls in our house. Isn’t it about time Daphne started her own collection?!
These cute ceramics from wallpaper and fabric designer Ana-moly have me enchanted. Featuring robin, donkey and fish designs on coloured backgrounds, the ceramic collection is dishwasher and oven friendly, and made from durable earthenware clay. I love the double-handed mug – just perfect for podgy hands.
In the US, I think they call products like this ‘heirloom buys’ – in that they’re the sort of thing that can be handed down, loved and used for generations. All Ana-moly ceramics are made by hand with lead-free glazes, in Stoke on Trent.
The bowls come in Jade, Blue, Buttersun and Grey, with different illustrations on each, but my favourite is definitely the sunny yellow Buttersun design with its cute robins. Find out more about this lovely brand at the Ana-moly website.
